Senior Data Engineer

I’m working with an established, growing technology business looking to strengthen its data engineering function. They’re hiring a Senior Data Engineer to help build and evolve the systems that turn complex data into reliable, accessible information for teams across the organisation.

This is a hands-on opportunity within a lean engineering team, offering significant autonomy, technical ownership and the chance to influence how data infrastructure develops as the business grows.

What you’ll be doing

• Building and owning data pipelines that take in data from the company’s own platform and from external partner feeds
• Defining core business metrics so everyone works from one consistent version of the numbers
• Working closely with commercial and product teams to turn loosely defined questions into durable data models
• Setting engineering standards across the data team and mentoring others

What they’re looking for:

• Solid experience building and owning production data pipelines and warehouse models
• Strong in SQL and experience with a cloud data warehouse, ideally Snowflake
• Confident in Python for ingestion, transformation and testing
• Experience managing warehouse costs and optimising queries at scale

Big pluses:

• dbt
• AWS
• Terraform/infrastructure as code
• BI tools such as Looker, Metabase or Power BI
